Give thanks in all circumstances

Just seven months into 2024, we give thanks and praise to our God for all His goodness towards the Bible Society ministry. Despite the extreme heat and the difficult economic conditions, God has blessed the work of the Bible Society, and with His help, we have been able to continue all the various summer programs.

We thank God for this summer's activities, such as the "Mobile Bible World," which assures the children of the credibility of the Bible, the "Kingo Celebrations," and the "Fekra X Le3ba" (Think and Play) activity booklet and competitions focused on the Book of Acts this year.

One of the mothers shared with us the impact of this competition book on her life, explaining how she knew nothing about the Bible or God's love for her. However, when she started the study, she began to read the Bible passionately, finishing household chores as quickly as possible so she could spend as much time as possible reading and studying the Bible and solving the competitions. She even stayed up until 3 or 4 in the morning reading the Bible. Her study of the Bible has made a significant change in her relationship with God and her family members.

One of our employees shared that his mother-in-law, after retiring, took a great interest in distributing the Bible to children. Over a few years, she purchased about 6,000 copies from the Bible Society and distributed them for free through small Bible study groups for children, teaching them how to study the Bible, memorize verses, and live by them. She lives in a small village, but despite her old age, she is very concerned and dedicated to serving the children in Sunday schools and orphanages.

We also thank God for the Bible study conferences to train leaders, ministers, and youth on how to  lead Bible study groups in an engaging and deep manner.  We are also training Sunday school teachers with innovative and interactive methods to present Bible stories.
Please pray with us for the Bible study conferences that will take place in September. Pray also for continuing  children's ministry through the Mobile Bible World events and Kingo festivals to be held in the last week of August and the first week of September.

With many tears, the Bible Society family bid farewell to our dear brother Amir Hanna Farag on the first week of July, who served at the Bible Society for 26 years. Amir was a devout, loving, very humble, and a diligent person in his work and service. Amir distributed the Bible at Christian celebrations, exhibitions, churches, and public outlets, and he encouraged many people to support the ministry of the Bible Society. We deeply miss Amir's presence among us, but we are comforted that he is with the Lord and has found rest from all his pains and illnesses. Please pray especially for his wife Nancy and his children Youssef and Rafy.

Sincerely,

Amir Elhamy
