What an incredible two weeks at the Cairo International Book Fair! With 5.5 million visitors, this year’s event was filled with exciting moments, unexpected blessings, and powerful encounters with God’s Word. Thank you for praying with us—it made all the difference! |

| One of the biggest surprises was the fair’s official theme for 2025: “Read... In the beginning was the word.” We could hardly believe it! What an amazing opportunity to share God’s Word in such a public space.
God blessed us with perfect booth locations. Though assigned randomly, our main booth ended up right at the entrance of a key hall, where hundreds of thousands of people passed by daily. Our Children’s Booth was also ideally placed, just across from a major children’s bookstore. |
| One of the exciting new books we introduced was “The Most Amazing Book”, which addresses questions about the Bible’s integrity. At first, we weren’t sure how people would react—would it spark difficult debates? But the response was overwhelmingly positive! Again and again, we heard people say, “I really needed this book” or “I have someone I need to share this with.” By the end of the fair, 4,000 copies had found their way into eager hands. |

| We also launched a brand-new comic-style Gospel of Mark, which was the first time ever to print the full biblical text of our new colloquial Egyptian translation! |
| | As always, our goal is to make Scriptures affordable for everyone, with several highly subsidized books and Bibles distributed to grateful readers. One of the most moving moments came when a visitor picked up a New Testament we were offering for just 6 EGP (12 cents). She smiled and said, “I bought this many years ago when it was only 1 EGP! I read it over and over until my mother burned it. But it changed my life.” This year, she brought a friend from another country, eager to help her discover the Bible for herself. Stories like this remind us why we do what we do! |
| Another special resource was “The Life of Christ”, a collection of Gospel passages highlighting Jesus’ divinity and redemptive work. This beautifully designed book, with its striking gilded calligraphy, was sold for just 5 EGP (10 cents) and caught the attention of 6,830 people. |
| Our Book Fair Bible competitions drew in 3,600 participants during these 2 weeks, both online and at our booth. The ON-SITE Bible competition especially was a huge success! Our large touchscreens drew in over a thousand people of all ages and backgrounds. Contestants solved puzzles, learned verses, connected characters, and more. It was a fun and creative experience the whole family could enjoy while engaging with the Bible in a fresh and exciting way. |
| | One young girl was drawn to the games but hesitated, thinking they would be too difficult. Like many of the contestants, she had never read the Bible. Nancy, one of our team members, encouraged her to give it a try, explaining the stories and questions as they went. To her delight, she won a Bible storybook as a prize. Not long after, she was back—this time with her friends, excited to share the experience with them. |
| | An annual highlight was our calligraphy station, where Ayman once again delighted visitors with his beautiful handwritten Bible verses. For six years now, people have returned just for these special keepsakes. One man even showed us a photo of his home’s doorway—decorated with all the verses he’s collected over the years! Ayman worked tirelessly, creating 750 unique calligraphy pieces in just 12 days. |
| | Every year, we come away from the Book Fair in awe of what God has done. We are so grateful for this chance to share His Word with people who might never have encountered it otherwise. And we are especially grateful for you—your prayers and support make all of this possible. God’s Word never returns void!
With gratitude, Amir Elhamy
